I'm not sure he does but it sounds like a good idea to me. I know they must have other people in other Dollhouses that do the same thing he does, but it seems expedient to have a Topher wedge that they could just pop into a doll if Topher is unavailable for some reason.

Of course, but you know they could always use Ivy.

I think they'd want his knowledge available, I get the impression he's smarter than Ivy and understands the whole thing much better.
Like when Echo was imprinted as the same person as the little girl, just grown up, Ivy couldn't see that they were the same, he had to explain to her. Also he just seems to understand the process and the dolls more than Ivy, like when he let Ivy be the one who says 'hello _____ how are you feeling' she said it wrong and without warmth and the doll seemed confused. He had to tell her how important it is to get the words and atmosphere right but she didn't seem to take it in, she was rolling her eyes.

Maybe in time Ivy would be able to do Topher's job but I don't think she could yet so if anything happened to him I think they'd have a Topher backup.

Yeah, Ivy is definitely not on the same level as Topher. She's like an apprentice. I highly doubt she'd be able to take over in an emergency.

I'm not sure if he does them regular but maybe if he had a big break through or something, he would have it so that it wouldn't be lost

I lean towards yes, and wouldn't be surprised if something like this is revealed in Season 2.

no i think everything topher knows will be missh mashly stored on the computer with a load of firewalls with passwords like "frak" and "alderaan" because smart people are paranoid and lonley smart people generally super paranoid i can't see topher trusting his machine with anyone else never mind his machine and his brain

i don't think he is a active remember how surprised adelle was when he told her about doing imprints in five minutes and he explained it, surly if he was they must have known that because they would have given him that information
