Just remembered a very strongly backed rumour that Jennifer Saunders will play The Doctor for one episode... supposedly for one of the specials.

Thinking about it, it could make sense. My other post has a possible script of the final scene of series 4, and The Doctor is very much alive as DT. He can't die at Xmas because its all too sad for that time of year. He can't go out at Easter (when the first of 09's specials will air) as that could be alluding to him being Jesus due to the time of year (sad, but true). He could however die in the second one, with a problem occurring in the regeneration resulting in him becoming, temporarily a woman (an awesome cliffhanger!) then the xmas special would feature the botched female regeneration of Jennifer Saunders, and by the end it will be fixed, leading to the emergence of the Official new Doctor, Rhys Ifans/Robert Carlyle/James Nesbitt/Daniel Radcliffe... whoever it may be!


Maybe I'm thinking about this stuff too much....
