I was watching EOT pt1 and one thing confused and disturbed me. The Master seemed to be doing a really go Hannibal Lecter immitation? did he really eat those two men he attacked in the beginning as well as the food vender?

It wasn't the coming back itself, it was his wife's betrayal, specificly when she through the antiserum into the mix... It caused everything to discombabulate (i love that word) and he never came fully back. So in order to stay alive he had to absorb life energy, because he was burning his own. The Doctor explains that right before Donna's Grandad shows up. (I dont remember his name at this very moment... Pregnancy brain... Sorry)

Maybe, but they never showed how he ate them, He may just absorb all of their energy or something... But you may be right.
