Media. One word. England is traditionally Christian, though only 30% is that are true christians and what we know of other religions are fed by media who aim to scare and propaganda, so what we are learning is misinformed information, something that is hiding the true nature of things.
I am married to a christian, yet i am Pagan. Half my family are Christians preaching God, others are scientists. I have muslim and buddhist friends.
What we see here in the news is nothing more than what the media and the government wants us to think. I know the muslim and the buddhist religion are both peaceful, yet all we see are extremists, muslims who have fallen on the wrong path committing suicide by blowing themselves up, buddhists who are setting themselves on fire.
I have come to my own conclusion - every religion is right. there is no evidence to say they are right or wrong in what they do, but if i respect their religion, they will respect mine. My muslim friends, i send the cards on their new year, they send them back on mine, Hindu friends send me Diwali cards, i send them back. It's misinformation and ignorance.
The reason i am teaching my child not only my religion, his fathers and others is so he understands that what separates us may bind us. His muslim friends last year in class, sent christmas cards before he did, and that touched me. They don't celebrate christmas, yet they still sent cards out withing us a happy one, i explained to him that it moved me because they respected our differences and we sent them one back, thanking them for the generousness and their hospitality. There is no difference between muslim, buddhist, christian, pagan etc the only thing that separates us is ignorance and my partner and i are patiently teaching our child to see that.

Uhm.
Where did you get the idea that everyone hates Christians? In Western countries, which is what I think you're referring to, that is absolutely not true. Anti-Christian sentiment is not widespread by any means and, in fact, people do very much mind Muslims and Buddhists. Stop playing the victim.

They don't.
There's a few scenarios that can occur:
1: You only think people hate Christians more, while ignoring hatred for other religions. This is a bias or narrow viewpoint.
2: The people that do hate on Christians might hate other religions as well. These are people that just hate religions in general, or hate religions that aren't their own.
3: The people that hate only on Christians might just have bad experience with Christians. These people are the ones that stereotype all Christians into one bad group, or they're just cautious of most Christians.
4: You just live in one place that is concentrated with Christian haters. That...would be interesting because most people seem to like Christians or its most mentioned.
5: Christianity is one of the more "popular" religions, so people would ignore the other religions and hate on Christianity for reasons like popularity.
...Tbh, I don't think Christianity is hated that much. It could just be media leading to a type 3 scenario.

I understand that there are intolerant people out there. The fact is, there are some people that generalise that all Christians are bad. I don't understand how people can msinterpret so badly. Nothing against you. It is just a fairly small number of people that have a particular prejudice against one religion.

Who are you referring to when you say "everyone" ?

I personally don't know anyone that outright hates Christianity. People dislike it sure, generally due to their perceived homophobia and sometimes even sexist views. Then there's the whole "I don't believe in God" things which can sometimes unnecessarily bubble over.

If anything I'd say people hate Muslims more than Christians, at least from my perspective. I live in England and the tension between Muslims and certain groups can get stupidly overheated. It was only recently that some idiot decided to set fire to a Mosque due to hatred towards Islam. Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but I can't remember hearing about anyone setting fire to a Church out of hatred of Christianity.

I can't remember Buddhists ever doing anything to incite hatred or animosity from anyone, at least not intentionally anyway.

Alright, obviously I can only speak for me personally and have no idea of anyone else's viewpoint or reasoning. I have a great dislike for organised religion but nothing against religious people in general so long as they extend me the same courtesy.

I don't hate Christians, most of my family are Christians and if I do have a problem with them it would be a problem with them personally, not because of their religion. Religion would only come into it if they stop me in the street or come to my door trying to convert me. I respect other people enough to not try and change their beliefs and it annoys me when other people don't extend me the same courtesy. Christians are particularly bad for this. I've been stopped countless times on the streets by people wanting to talk to me about 'Our Lord Jesus Christ' and force pamphlets into my hands, but I've never been stopped by Muslims or Buddhists.

Otherwise, I guess people have an issue with the religion itself or its management. Assuming you are talking about Western society where Christianity is the most widespread religion there's going to be more people who have an issue with it. I turned atheist because I very much disliked the idea of belonging to a religion who's entire moral code was written by a group of racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually repressed men. I left the church because I have many gay, lesbian, transgender friends who have been terribly maligned or persecuted because of who they are. There is a reason none of those friends are Christians - they are reviled by the church. They are not welcome there.

I also don't worship God because I don't believe in Him. I have a very logical mind and I refuse to curtail my actions and behave in a certain way - especially if it goes against my natural urges - because it may piss off a deity I don't believe in who has done nothing for me or my loved ones. Even if God does exist He is not something I'd want to worship considering his creed.

I have no idea what country you're living in, but I can guarantee you, anti-Muslim sentiment is a HUGE problem in most Western countries, like America.

Christians are the biggest demographic in the world. There is no wide spread persecution or discrimination of Christians. Christian churches aren't picketed, or burned down routinely. Christians aren't told to "go back home" or threatened, or attacked for their faith. They aren't told to take their crosses off when they're in public places. They aren't harassed for wearing it, or for praying before they eat.

Nobody hates the Judea-Christian God or Christians. People may hate Christians who use their faith to shame people who are different, justify bigotry, or use it for greed, but that's about it. And that's not hating Christians, that's hating bad people.

Where did you get that idea?

Anyway, I don't hate God; I simply don't believe in him. I don't hate Christians, either. I only dislike Christians if they use their religion as an excuse, such as saying they think homosexuality is a sin, or they try to convert others.
I don't like anyone who does that, though, of any religion.

Satan. He hates God's children (aka Christians), so he makes it clear that he hates us (by us, I mean Christians) by whispering lies to people, so that they say hateful things. But don't worry- the hate is aimed at God, so just let it slide off your back and onto God.
Hope that helps :)
