I really think that this whole accident happened because of greed. If BP had taken the extra few minutes to do all the safety checks correctly and not cut corners, this whole mess could have been avoided.
However, it is also an eye-opener. It shows that we should try using cleaner energy. Oil is disasterous, and it would be good for us all to have cleaner energy. How about hydro power, or solar power, or wind power? Because if we destroy the planet because of our greed and selfishness, then what's the point of having money anyway? It won't do you any good then.
