Hmm to tell you the truth in order for a film to be a cult film it will attract a devoted group of followers that end up loving to watch it. Usually they don't follow the traditions of mainstream cinema and are usually outside of it. They don't become a cult film untill it gets a fanbase of people. They sometimes are not discovered untill a few years later. The films may have failed to achieve mainstream success on original release which is why so many people dont find them amusing and others do. Either that or our tastes are completley distinct.
