Comic Books The rivalry between comic book fans: Love it or hate it?

Everyone has their preference, Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, etc.
But some fans get very protective or very competitive with fans who enjoy a differing comic book company which is different to theirs.
I'm just curious if you think this is a good thing or a bad thing.
