Seems like a lot of people like the same ones - has anyone seen Heart of the country? Just wondering, 'cos I've only seen about 6 seconds of part of it on YouTube, and couldn't find any more

Hmm, the Prestige seems to make everyone's favourite list, which interest me, because that means that it's good, and available in shops.

yeah, it's my no. one! the prestige was really interesting and suspenseful

Really? but you have seen it right? Do you find anything lacking in it? or is it just that you like the others a lot better?

I was thinking about this thread, and it's gotten a tad boring, so I was thinking that we could continue to post our top ten if its our first time on the thread, and if it isn't, we can just talk about what we think of each other's choices?

That sounds like a good idea!! I'll definitely be joining in on that later, but right now I'm not feeling intellectually prepared for it!

I'd like to explain each of my choices and their ranking in my list :) As well as any thing which i don't like so much about them

1. Newsies is my number one because: You get to see the rare sight of Christian Bale singing and dancing (as a really hot 18 year old). The only downside is that there are so many newsie fans who hate Sarah and consider her to be a ‘plot-hole’ basically just because they’re jealous, they don’t see why he’d like her, and they love the idea of homosexual newsies.

2. The Dark Knight is my number two because it’s Christian Bale at his best, and he shows off his acting prowess amazingly – it’s just glorious to watch. What I dislike about it is that everyone says Heath Ledger’s performance overshadowed Bale’s. I think that their performances complimented each other, and that though Heath Ledger was (btw ... R.I.P) a brilliant actor, Bale’s acting skills far exceed his.

3. The Prestige is my number three because it offsets Christian Bale against Hugh Jackman, and shos how much of a better actor Bale is, and how much better looking than Jackman he is. I don’t really have a bone to pick with this – though I get annoyed when people start arguing about who was “less twisted.” It’s pretty obvious. Bale.

4. American Psycho makes my number four because Christian Bale totally rocks in this – he plays a really convincing psycho, and the plot of the movie is just ... incredible. I get annoyed that I haven’t seen the un-cut version, because that means I haven’t really seen the whole film. – not to forget the fact that Christian Bale looks god-like in this

5. Equilibrium is my number four mainly because of the way Bale pulls off such a complex character, and manages to make the slightest actions speak for thousands of words. I get annoyed when people call it art-housey .....

6. A Midsummer night's dream is my number six because it basically shows how classy bale is ... yep, he understands Shakespeare. I don’t see Sam Worthington tackling anything so prestigious. I get annoyed when people say that the nudity is disgusting in this.

7. Howl's moving Castle is my number seven because it proves how truly amazing Bale’s voice is. He completes the character, and I can’t imagine the film being half as good without Bale’s voice (those poor Japanese people). It really is beautiful.

8. Batman Begins is my number eight because ... well ... it’s batman, what more can I say?

9. Treasure Island is my number nine because I’ve loved this ever since being a tiny little kid, and it was my favourite movie long before I’d even heard the name “Christian Bale” it shows how amazing an actor he was even as a young ... person.

10. Terminator: Salvation is in my top ten because he does such an amazing performance as Connor, and tops all the other Terminator films. I HATE it when people say he was all grunt and no emotion the whole time. You only had to glance at his eyes to see the emotion spilling out of them.
