Hm, I'd have to say at this point they're pretty even. Beckett sometimes seems like she's one step behind, but that's just because she doesn't feel the need to advertise every time she figures something out.

I have to agree, I think they are fairly even plus I find it hard to choose only after 2 episodes.

Think they're pretty even too. Castle is just really open about it and has a slight advantage. He's thinking out of the box - the unthinkable - because of his writing.

Beckett is more the fact finder and hates to be wrong about anything. Secretly she enjoys having Castle around and she's getting better because of it.

Castle has a few good House-iphanies, but Beckett's the one who knows what she's doing.

Beckett is the proffesional and is really great at solving cases...Castle is a close second though...they also seem to bounce back and forth when it comes to figuring things out

I agree with what TypicalSquint said; both Beckett and Castle have diferent approaches and methods, and while Beckett is the profesional and relies on facts, Castle thinks outside the box and has a natural intiution that often proves to be right. They are like the two sides of the same coin; not compelete without the other, like Bones and Booth, or Merlin and Arthur.

It was hard to choose, now that i think about it beckett might be more professional but castle does have his sources :]

It's close, but I'd say it was Beckett. It doesn't matter if she's the professional or not.

Castle always starts out with ridiculous theories but then near the end of most episodes he has an epiphany (which is usually through talking with Alexis so when she moves to college, Castle's gonna be screwed). though to be fair, they usually figure it out at around the same time through their different methods. so i give Castle a slight edge but once Alexis leaves, i think Beckett will be better than him.

I think that Castle is like Patrick Jane on The Mentalist they both have their thoughts and then the answer just comes to them almost like magic!!!

I love how people choose Castle even though Beckett is a detective one of the 'finest detectives in ny'. But Castle has been instrumental in a few cases with his crazy warped ideas. But Beckett is a trained detective who has been there for many years.

It's a combination of Beckett's talent in this domain and Castle's unstopable imagination.
