well...castle wanted a break from crimesolving over the summer and then beckett broke up with demming cuse someone told her that castle was leaving because of there relationship and when she was going to tell castle about her feelings his ex wife walked in a said are you ready to got to the hamptons when castle had already asked beckett earlier in the episode

Everyone is forgetting how Kate Lied to Castle about Demming's Boat House. Hence why Castle asked his Ex WIfe to come. If they made Kate state she was done with Demming then the ending would be totally different
Castle and Beckket got a murder where the guy was a 'spy' until they find out it's just a game.then Castle asks Beckett if she wants to go to then Hamptons and finds out she's going with Demming. then Castle wants to take a 'break' from murders. and Beckett is shocked, like she has her mouth open and bugged eyes. then she figures out she like Castle and is going to tell him until Gina shows up to go to the Hamptons with Castle. Beckett then looks like she got punched in the gut.
