What happens to buffys mom in season 5?

She gets sick with cancer and they never really say for sure but she apparently dies from complications of the operation for the cancer.

The thing that killed her was a brain aneurysm which resulted in death. They never said the tumor was malignant, only that it was benign. Hence, she probably did not have cancer. Just a tumor.
