I do not see any reason why the writter "killed" her! He had transformed from at the end from bullied child into courage one and i do not know what ever but it already happened even if she would be alive... This could be the BEST movie i ever seen but her death made it for me very oppresive and sad, nothing that i want to see again... it was lovely seeing how two people could have beautifull relation ship, became close friend and if the writter wouldnt "killed" her in the story it could be even more and they could became more that best friends... death is nothing that we could oversaw and maybe it said that time heal but wound can be just healed psyhicaly, we will still remeber what happend and wish that never happend... we will always remeber and cry for those, who we loved, who we hadnt said what we feels with who we wanted to live forever and we never think about she or he could die... And then we will have a empy space in you hearts forever... never forget them and always miss those who we lost in every way, in everything that we do...
This is maybe just movie or book, but the point is that this is not way how to end beautifull story, totaly not young kids who couldnt even be together for long time...
If they would told me she will die i wouldnt even look at the movie case or book cover...
I had too mutch suffer in my real life i do not need to see how more lifes crushed into death and misery...
the reason leslie died is that the writter, Katherine Paterson, wrote this story to her son, to explane the death of jis best friend, Lisa or something, so she had to die...sadly
no, because without Leslie the story wouldn't be the same, and it would be just useless making up. the story is good in the way that it is. people tend to stick to things that went good once and continue doing them.. some films shouldn't have more than 1 part.
by the time, i already found some info about the background of that book and i also realized that that slap into face made us to think more about the whole thing(friendship and so on), without her death we would probably just say that it was lovely story and move forward like if nothing happened. Anyway, i think that it shouldnt be called family movie, but rather drama, because i cant imagine what possitive it could be on those young kind which would probably just see death of "that boys friend", i dont think they would think about it more deeply, it took me more than week to think about the whole movie from different side. And still, i dont appreciate"killing" young kids in movies. All in all, this movie was good how it was done, even if it could be as good as if it was done somehow else. Maybe that shock in the end is the best way to open our eyes and dont let unsaid words which we want to say and to make us think about the things we really want and about things we want to do with our friends and not miss chance. So as one saying says: "Never left rollerblades for the best occasion, or you will grow up sooner than you will get chance to try them" :) so as the movie is saying us, do what you want to do and do not left it for "some good day in future"
No because Leslie is gone and Jess will need time to de-depress. Also stop feeling bad, but still without Leslie there is no happiness. She was sent from god in my mind.
No it's unrealistic and if Leslie were to come back the author would've made Jess imagine her. Then in my opinion the story wouldn't of ended the way that brings it all together. That's why i enjoyed it, ending with no questions or problems unsolved
