Bones Question

did brennan know cam before she became her boss?

On season 2 episode 1 when booth asks brennan and cam if they know each other and they say that they don't.
On season 5 episode 16 they tell sweets about hteir first time working together (booth and brennan) and apparently brennan and cam had met before.
am i getting it wrong?

i think that brennan did not know cam but cam did know brennan. cause in the hunderedth episode cam mention something to brennan when they met in the lift about bren doing a lecture and of course bren is a world renown anthropologist so she would know.
