Shinigami are not immortal cause the can die of sickness and by gettin cut up. As far as lifespans go they may not have one. if you dont get sick or cut up you'll live. Head captain is way over 2000 years old. They do age,Renji, Rukia,Byakuya,and Toshiro were show as small children. Renji and Rukia were children 50 years ago. i think once they become adults their aging slows down almost to a stop.

I never said that their aging competely stopped just slowed down ALMOST to a stop. Yamamoto is thousands and thousands of years old. Older than any other shinigami. the shinigami acdamey opened 2000 years ago by Yamamoto. Yorouichi is older than Byakuya, she was an adult when he was like a teenager.
Rukia once said that she is 15 times older than Ichigo so how do you compute it? Ichigo's age=16x15....
Shinigami's are not immortal since they die. if we base it on Deathnote: Shinigami's do die if... they sacrifice their life span when they fall inlove to a mortal or when a fellow shinigami kills them... In Bleach, yes they die of course, many had died.. Life span? i don't know maybe they will last for not an eternity and eventually die... First Ichigo is 15 not 16. 2nd Rukia said she has lived 15 of his lifetimes. You might want to watch that first episode again. 3rd Deathnote has nothing to do with bleach. just cause the both use shinigami doesnt mean anything. lastly your little quote is unnecessary no one said they lived for eternity. Also if Yamamoto is the OLDEST shinigami i would only guess that would imply that there is a some limit to their lifes.

No, shinigamis are not immortal. they are just like humans and can die in the same ways humans die and reproduce but the difference is that some of them were humans -meaning they died in the real world and came to the soul society-a world for souls so its like a second life and they can die again eg. Hisana, Byakuya's wife died in the real world approximately 150 yrs ago with Rukia and she died again from an illness 5 yrs after marrying Byakuya. then there are those souls who are born in the soul society like Byakuya. guess he only gets 1 life. they do age. head captain yamamoto 1000 yrs ago was way younger than he looks now. he had black hair back then and looked around age 50(human age)also Byakuya looks around 24 yrs of age and is 242 yrs old. so the age is probably 10:1
