I need the help of some real Batman fans!

I need the help of some real Batman fans! I'm trying to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday and want to get it right. He loves t shirts but he likes really obscure tee's that people don't recognise. I thought about making an Arkham Asylum t shirt. For this I really need to get it right. I heard that in one universe [forgive me if this is the wrong terminology] that Batman was an inmate. Does anyone know if this is true? I'd be soooooooo grateful for any help.

Thank you for your reply. I don't suppose you know which graphic novel it was in? And do you know if he wore an inmate shirt? i'd be interested to see if he had an inmate number.

The 4 issues were entitled the last arkham, and no he didn't were a inmates uniform, but he did were a straitjacket.
