Shounen-ai/Yaoi - Now, I don't hate yaoi itself. I actually like plenty of yaoi pairings. However, I do loathe yaoi anime and manga for the following reasons;
- The seme is always a muscular man while the uke looks (and acts) either child-ish or like a girl. The muscular man x girly guy is so cliché, uncreative and kinda gross.
- There's often a big age difference (Over 10 years). Why can't two classmates fall in love?
- In all the shounen-ai/yaoi anime I've watched, the seme sexually assaults the uke and even rapes them. Is this shit supposed to be "sexy"?
Just by looking at those three reasons, it's pretty obvious what one of my most hated anime is. After all, it has all three.
Shoujo-ai/Yuri - I hate shoujo-ai and yuri with burning passion. Pairings included. No exceptions.
Reverse Harem - It's not the genre that's the problem. It's the protagonist. Most protagonists in reverse harems are incredibly dumb, weak, useless, dependent and have the personality of a potato. Whoops. Sorry. Didn't mean to insult potatoes.
Horror - I loathe the 'horror' genre both for anime and for movies. Especially those with zombies or a lot of gore in it. I have no problem reading horror manga, though.
Hentai - It's disgusting. Enough said.
Ecchi - Ecchi doesn't bother me unless there's too much of it. It makes it seem like the anime director or mangaka isn't being serious and focuses on the ecchi rather than focusing on having a good storyline and well-developed characters.
Fanservice - This isn't an anime genre, but I'd like to mention it anyway. It kinda goes hand-in-hand with ecchi, yaoi and yuri. As much as I love series like Free and Fairy Tail, both are full of fanservice. Even Hetalia has become more about fanservice nowadays instead of focusing on the plot. Just by comparing the Hetalia manga with its anime, you'll notice that the anime director has removed a lot of characters (Not including South Korea) and dialogues from the scenes (i.e. the Halloween episode) to focus on pairings (that will never even be canon) j just to please the yaoi fangirls. It's very annoying and disrespectful towards the mangaka. It's also disrespectful towards the fans who love the characters that were removed. Especially since the characters hadn't appeared previously in the season and then only got a 2 second long cameo when they were supposed to have dialogues. Even Prussia, one of the most loved Hetalia characters, got his 14 lines reduced to just 1. Not to mention that the major event (The costume contest) was almost ignored. Instead of showing Canada revealing the winner of the contest, which is the moment all the countries waited for, the anime director cut that part out to focus on the scenes where Hong Kong is talking to Iceland or England is arguing with France and America. Ridiculous.
Sorry for the long answer xD
