Anime Question

Is it normal to be in love with an anime character?

I have to admit that I’m in love with Christian Seto Rosenkreuz. The odd part is I’m not interested in real-life dating. Looking back I think I've had a crush on him since playing Yu-Gi-Oh Duelist of the Roses when I was 9. Now that I'm 17 it's become love (although that might have happened last year) to the extent that I can’t picture myself with anyone else.
Is it normal to be in love with an anime character?

There is a big difference between Crush and Love. So when you say you 'love' an anime character you usually mean you have a crush on them because if you love a fictional character(like love love) then you have serious problems.

With Anime, your crush isn't real, doesn't exist outside of that Anime/Manga, and there is NO possibility of ever meeting them. They are just the product of somebody's imagination, so in that sense, you fell in love with a product of someone's imagination that has no sentience, and cannot do anything unless their creator writes it.

No, that isn't normal at all.

I'm not telling anyone that they can't have feelings for an Anime character, because it isn't my place to tell people what they can or can't do. I don't have that authority. But i do think that once you move beyond a harmless crush on a fictional character, that you need to stop. You'll never be happy, because if your one true love doesn't really exist, then you're only harming yourself by continuing to love that character.
